Adobe launched a creatively generated AI model called Adobe Firefly on March 21, similar to DALL-E or Midjourney, which can be done with just text prompts.AI generates images. Adobe says the model is trained only on content that is licensed or not copyrighted, rather than from works by internet artists.
In its official Twitter, Adobe claimed that its mission is to better help creatives of all kinds change the way they imagine, create and work, so it launched Adobe Firefly:
- Adobe Firefly is a new series of creative generation AI models that provide new ways to concept, create and communicate while significantly improving creative workflows.
- As a creator, Adobe sees Adobe Firefly as a way to complement their creative process through text-based image generation and editing.
- While Adobe Firefly will eventually consist of multiple models, its first model was trained on Adobe Stock, as well as public licenses with expired copyrights and public domain content.
- Adobe Firefly will now be available as a standalone beta for user feedback. Based on subsequent feedback, Adobe plans to introduce Firefly into Adobe Express and AEM next, and launch more creative applications.
